Employing People with Disabilities
In our experience, many organisations recognise the benefits of employing a diverse workforce, and are keen to provide equality of opportunity for all employees. However, in the field of disability particularly, this can present a number of challenges which make it difficult to know how best to proceed.
Through the Disability Working project, we can help London based employers to attract and employ skilled candidates with autistic spectrum disorders and/or learning disabilities. We can advise on ‘reasonable adjustments’ to the recruitment process, and in the job itself. We can also provide training and ongoing guidance on how best to support someone within the workplace.
Additionally, we can help to set up short term work experience placements that can be of real benefit to the individual and enable them to make a valid contribution to your organisation. Many employers have reported that such placements are a valuable experience for both parties.
Prospects and The Camden Society have many years expertise in this field, and are able to provide specialist advice and support to both the employee and employer.
For some examples of our successes, please read our case studies on this site.
If you think we can help you to create opportunities for people with disabilities in your organisation, please feel free to contact us for an informal discussion.
